Finding myself in the ‘nati once again, I had to swing on over to Boca – my favorite restaurant in Ohio. This place kicks the arse of anything in the 270. Boca is definitely a five star fine repast.
I started out my dinner at Boca with the JRome Slider – a ground beef tenderloin sandwiche with steamed onions and cheese. Sliders at a nice restaurant? Yeah, it sounds kind of corny but, damn, sometimes cheeseburgers go so well with red wine. In fact, they go well with red wine all the time. Truthfully, I wanted to go with the poached egg over haricots verts salad that was all the rage the last time we hit Boca, but the wife and her friend had already ordered it. We couldn’t all order the same starter, could we now? Nevertheless, my man, Jeremy, hooked me up with a little taster of one of the finest salad combinations that I’ve had. They treat you right at Boca.
Boca’s Scallop over Brussels Sprouts
You may see “Brussels Sprout” and cringe. Let me tell you, this absolutely rocked! So good it will leave you on your knees beggin’ for buttermilk. The Scallop was perfection but the Brussels Sprouts were other-worldly. It’s not often that a restaurant can serve you one scallop and leave you completely satisfied. I’m waiting to see that here in C-bus.
Boca’s Chicken Risotto
When you come to Boca, the Chicken Risotto is the must have on the menu. Its smoked chicken over mushroom truffle risotto. This time, however, Boca was a little off its game. The chicken was a bit salty and slightly overdone and the risotto was a bit watery. Despite this, Boca is still a fine repast favorite because I finished with the Crème Brulée. I’ve been to France several times and never had Crème Brulée this fine. We’re talking lick the bowl good. Oh wow! It had a perfect crust and a fabulous texture and consistency. Little vanilla beans were to be found throughout the dish. Just lovely!
Boca still rockin’ hard! Be there!

Here’s my thoughts on New Taco Tao:
“I drove over here after reading about it on the web. It’s a really dirty truck with a really dirty table. Forget it. ”
On the other hand, Taquikin Taqueria y Loncheria Movil, which is actually on Morse Rd, I said:
“Went back tonight for a couple more taco pastors and an order of refried beans. And tried the roasted jalapenos. They weren’t as hot as I imagined. Also had an orange soda. Very good food. Highly recommended!”
