Falafel Sandwich with Hummus - the mainstay of Jerusalem Garden
The Jerusalem Garden is one of my favorite stops in Ann Arbor, Michigan. You just can’t find falafel sandwiches likes this in Columbus. I’ll keep trying though. And if you have any suggestions for good falafel here let me know. The Garden is a tiny restaurant hidden behind the Herb David Guitar Shop on South Fifth Avenue. I used to pass it everyday on my walk home and practically used to eat there everyday. Since those days, they’ve added considerably more seating in the form of an outdoor patio. When it gets cold (which will be soon) it will be back to dining inside only. Part of the fun is eating in front, right next to the falafel artistes and watching them make your meal. Or you can get cozy in the back, where sharing tables is almost a necessity when business is hoppin’.
Tahini Salad at Jerusalem Garden
My favorites are the falafel sandwiches with hummus, tahini salad, and turkish coffee. When all the other restaurants are packed and have 30-40 minute lines for seating, consider the Jerusalem Garden. Good, quick and cheap eats in Ann Arbor.
