Despite my new favorite Indian cuisine lunchtime haunt, aka Taj Mahal, a friend insisted that we revisit the New India Restaurant off of Bethel Road for our weekly buffet binge. The food is really outstanding at the New India Cuisine. It’s just a challenge to get chai as documented in earlier reviews.
Anyhow, my friend happened to recognize a local Columbus celebrity without the makeup. No, it wasn’t Gene Simmons or Paul Stanley. Neither of whom harkens from Columbus. This individual’s goal is to “to shatter the phalanx of mundanity suffocating the natural evolution of the human race.” He also proclaims that “The primary weapon of the mind is its ability to project and visualize at the same time.”
Still guessing whom it might be? It was none other than that late night television star of Community 21 fame, Damon Zex. I considered going up and asking the man for his autograph but figured that he probably received too many of those requests from his admiring hoards. So I let him eat his bloody chicken tikka masala in peace.
TV definitely ads some height to even our local celebs as Mr. Zex seemed shorter in real life. He also walked with a bit of a limp and seemed rather reserved for a man given to such televised flamboyance.
“HA, HA, HA, HA , HA!”
Rumor has it he may reside within the bounds of Clintonville. I guess you never know whom you’ll run into at an Indian Buffet.

Here’s my thoughts on New Taco Tao:
“I drove over here after reading about it on the web. It’s a really dirty truck with a really dirty table. Forget it. ”
On the other hand, Taquikin Taqueria y Loncheria Movil, which is actually on Morse Rd, I said:
“Went back tonight for a couple more taco pastors and an order of refried beans. And tried the roasted jalapenos. They weren’t as hot as I imagined. Also had an orange soda. Very good food. Highly recommended!”
