Nothing like the obscured atmosphere at the Dube’s bar
Trying to find a good place to eat on campus, I discovered that a lot of places are closed on Monday night including The Taj Mahal and The Blue Nile. But you can always count on The Dube to be open. And open it is until 1 am on most nights and 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays. As we were famished and desperate after walking several blocks on ice laden sidewalks, we headed into the Dube. Does this place have a basement. I’d love to see the basement at the Dube. Their furnaces are located on the main floor so it may not. If the main floor is always dark then the basement would have to be like something from Silence of the Lambs.

Red pepper hummus plate at the Blue Danube
We started off with the Red Pepper Hummus Plate at the Dube. I love the sense of humor of the preparer and the hummus was happy as well. The red cayenne pepper and hummus was a great combination. I’ll have to remember that one. I just had a veggie sub and my buddy had a black bean burger which he adored. But let’s face it, it’s the atmosphere that keeps you comin’ back or keeps you away. I kind of like the dark setting of the Dube. I still need to try their Dom Perignon and grilled cheese sandwich combo.

Here’s my thoughts on New Taco Tao:
“I drove over here after reading about it on the web. It’s a really dirty truck with a really dirty table. Forget it. ”
On the other hand, Taquikin Taqueria y Loncheria Movil, which is actually on Morse Rd, I said:
“Went back tonight for a couple more taco pastors and an order of refried beans. And tried the roasted jalapenos. They weren’t as hot as I imagined. Also had an orange soda. Very good food. Highly recommended!”
