Costco during the blizzard of 3-8-08
Four wheel drive and some ground clearance will get you anywhere - even in a blizzard. So I found myself at Costco on a Saturday. You’ll be lucky to see Costco this empty on a weekend ever again but 18 inches of snow will keep the scared Columbusites at home shoveling their driveways to get nowhere quickly. I-71 was basically one lane, heading north and south. High street near Graceland shopping center was a mess with several stuck cars and a stuck COTA bus. Another COTA bus was shipwrecked on Indianola. If you just have a regular passenger car with no ground clearance than stay at home. If you do go out, give your tires about 34-36 psi and shed any excess weight in the trunk and elsewhere. You’d be surprised what a little extra ground clearance will do for you in the snow.
