I’ve been a big fan of the New India Restaurant in the Bethel Center Mall. I would rank them as the best Indian Lunch Buffet in town but for one thing - trying to get a cup of chai is like pulling teeth. Today, I was there with a friend and we weren’t even asked what we wanted to drink. They just served water. I’ve asked for chai in the past and they make a big fuss about it taking 15 minutes, blah, blah, blah. Can I have some effin’ chai with my Indian food? Pahleaze? I don’t care if it takes 15 minutes.
You ask for chai at the Taj Palace and they will refill your cup as often as you care to accept. But you can’t even get chai at the New India Restaurant. Sorry, it’s so hard for you guys at the New India to serve chai. Next time, I’ll bring my own from Starbucks or something.
5/26/08 update - Chai seems to be showing up again at New India - Hooray!
