FineRepast.com took a recent weekend trip to the University of Cincinnati and began their dining tour at Pomodori’s Pizzeria. Pomodori’s is an institution on UC’s campus. Located right off of West McMillan Street, it’s right in the heart of the action. Pomodori’s probably does most of its business making pizza pies. When I walked in, two pizza makers were displaying their dexterity tossing pizza in the air. Despite their penchant for pizza, I went against the grain and tried their Chicken Parmesan on top of spaghetti. I also had their greek salad and a glass of shiraz.
Pomodori’s serves their wine with little pretension – right in a good ol’ table glass and I doubt the shiraz deserved better. Their Greek Salad was extremely tasty. After I had lapped up the last drops of its remnants and dressing, I was still begging for more. Fortunately, the main course had arrived. I was a bit disappointed in the chicken parm. The chicken was a bit dry and perhaps overcooked or maybe recooked. But the spaghetti saved the day. Pomodori’s homemade noodles were fantastic. In fact, I would recommend just ordering the spaghetti if you are not in the mood for pizza.
Overall, I give Pomodori’s a thumbs up. Good campus food and reasonable prices.

Here’s my thoughts on New Taco Tao:
“I drove over here after reading about it on the web. It’s a really dirty truck with a really dirty table. Forget it. ”
On the other hand, Taquikin Taqueria y Loncheria Movil, which is actually on Morse Rd, I said:
“Went back tonight for a couple more taco pastors and an order of refried beans. And tried the roasted jalapenos. They weren’t as hot as I imagined. Also had an orange soda. Very good food. Highly recommended!”
